DEB COVEY-BARNETT
Deb Barnett is founder of Discover the Olympian Within. For the past 3.5 decades she has used her personal athletic adventures and MA in Sport Psychology to coach, teach and speak to athletes of all ages, levels of competition and across multiple sports. Deb has the unique experience of having both competed and coached at the international level, plus involvement in sport associations in four different countries and two different hemispheres. With over a decade as an elite athlete including two Olympic games and 3 World Cup Tournaments, plus her multifaceted understanding of team environments, Deb is a tremendous asset for any athlete, parent, coach, sporting, or school organization.
Deb is passionate and determined to help athletes and coaches take their game to the next level. This shines through her work in the enthusiast, encouraging and empowering way she coaches and presents.
Deb believes every person has greatness within, it is just a matter of developing consistent, daily habits that have proven to be foundational to optimizing performance, building resistance and resourcefulness, and fostering peak performance culture. The road to personal and performance success requires training not only physical components, but the mental, emotional, and spiritual as well. Skills developed in her playing days have translated into her life as a wife, mother, friend, employee and coach.

Deb now lives in Australia with her Husband, Andy Barnett, (former assistant Strength Coach of The New York Giants NFL, USA, New Zealand Olympic Teams Strength Coach, AFL (Australia) Western Bulldogs Strength Coach), Strength Coach for the Newcastle Knights NRL Club and currently, Andy is Strength Coach of Melbourne City Football Club.
Deb and Andy have two sons, Matthew and Caleb.
